Cleveland UK: international patient ambitions
Cleveland Clinic London’s hopes for national and international business have soared， as UK borders are mostly open for business， and two new insurer deals are signed。
Between them AXA and Bupa control over 70% of the UK private medical insurance market。 Both are top ten global players in international health insurance。 Bupa has recently launched international products for high net worth individuals and signed a deal partnering with Generali on international health insurance worldwide。 For the Cleveland Clinic， it is hoping deals signed with AXA and Bupa will produce business not just from all over the UK but also from abroad。
The Cleveland Clinic London hospital opens in early 2022。 It will have 184 inpatient beds， including 29 ICU beds； eight operating rooms； a full imaging suite； endoscopy and cardiac catheterisation laboratories； day case rooms for surgery； and a full neurological suite with rehabilitation。 In addition to comprehensive cardiovascular and thoracic services， it will offer orthopaedics， digestive diseases， urology， neurosciences， ear， nose， and throat， general surgery， general practice and executive health。
Cleveland Clinic London and AXA Health have reached an agreement to offer eligible AXA Health customers access to Cleveland Clinic London’s medical and surgical services， with a focus on heart and vascular， digestive disease， neurosciences and orthopaedics。 The organisations are working together on new models of service delivery。
Cleveland Clinic has been recognised as the No。 2 hospital in the world by Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2021 list。 London will be the newest location in Cleveland Clinic’s global footprint and the first in Europe， with the main hospital opening in central London in early 2022。
As part of its agreement with AXA Health， UK and international affiliates and partners of AXA Health will have access to Cleveland Clinic London。
Cleveland Clinic London and Bupa have reached an agreement to enable Bupa’s health insurance customers to also access Cleveland Clinic London。
Cleveland Clinic London is seeking more deals with major domestic and international health insurers。
