我覺得than的用法上次說得還不徹底，今天再補充一點。

先總結一下than的用法：

1。 作為介詞時，用法就一種情況。舉例

I like you better

than

her。

顯然，than後面的代詞是

賓格。

2.

作為連詞時，引導的是

比較狀語從句。

than引導的比較狀從句，分兩種情況：

1。兩事物在同一種情況下的比較，很簡單，初中就能掌握。

You draw better

than I(do).

than

後面就是一個省略的從句，只保留了它的主語，後面其實還有謂語，省略掉了。

2。同一事物在不同情況下的比較，比較複雜，要求高中學生掌握。比如

He arrived at school earlier

than

teachers expected。

She bought more food

than

she needs indeed。

than引導的比較狀語從句，有一個常用搭配would rather。看例子

e would rather

overwork

than (

he

)

ask for help。

注意，省略形式更地道些。

I would rather stay home because of epidemic situation

than go out.

than還有一個常用法：hardly/barely/scarcely……than/when/before。比如

I had

hardly

got home

than

it began to rain。

顯然，上面的情況，hardly可以替換成barely和scarcely，than可以換成when或者before。
