眾所周知，英語的動詞帶有賓語，表達比較完整的意義。部分形容詞意義不完整，需要帶賓語補充意義，構成形容詞短語，可以帶賓語的形容詞有以下幾種情況：

（1）worth用名詞、代詞、動名詞作賓語

The exhibition is worth

a visit

。 這個展覽值得參觀。

How much

is the picture worth？ 這幅畫值多少錢？

The care isn‘t woth

repairing

。 這輛車不值得修理。

（2）有些形容詞和一定的介片語成短語形容詞，後面接賓語，用來補充說明形容詞

He is fond of

music

。 他喜歡音樂。

She was ignorant of

his presence

。 她不知道他在場。

（3）有些形容詞可以用不定式或不定式短語作賓語

He is always ready

to help others

。 他總是樂於助人。

She is impatient

to see her friends

。 她急於要見她的朋友。

（4）有些形容詞可以用從句作賓語

I am afraid

that he will die

。 我擔心他會死。

Are you sure

that he will come

？ 你肯定他要來嗎？
