So I’m gonna share the exact phrases and expressions that you need to do things in English conversations like when you want to interrupt someone or you want to change the topic。
Maybe when you need to end a conversation and lots of others as well。
所以我要分享一些你們在英語對話中用得到的短語和表達，比如說當你想要打斷某個人或者是想要改變話題的時候。可能是當你需要結束一個對話的時候，還有很多其他的情況。
In fact， I‘m sharing fifty useful phrases that will help you in English conversations， all useful expressions that you need to improve your speaking skills and to help you maintain conversations for longer。 So I hope you’re ready。
其實呢，我要給大家分享五十個能夠在英語對話中幫助你們的很有用的短語，這些都是你們提升口語技能所需要的有用的表達，而且能夠幫助你們保持對話持續進行。所以我希望你準備好了。
Let‘s get into it！ Now a lot can happen during a conversation。

Talking about the topic is one important part but to speak fluently and to speak with ease， you need to have a range of conversation tools up your sleeve because there are lots of other shifts and changes that happen during a conversation depending on who you’re talking to， what‘s going on around you and whether or not you’re interested or not。
Right now we‘re going to focus on the tools that you need to move around in your conversations easily and naturally。
談論某個話題是很重要的一部分，但是要說得流利還輕鬆的話，你需要事先準備好很多對話中用得到的工具，因為在對話中還有很多其他的轉換啊，改變啊，這取決於你在和誰說話，你身邊發生了什麼，以及你是不是感興趣。現在呢我們要關注那些在對話中游刃有餘所需要的工具啦。
Alright and if you make it through to the very end of this video， I’m gonna share some advanced expressions to help you talk about controversial topics， to help you express your ideas when you know that not everyone‘s gonna agree with you right and you want to prepare them for that。

So conversations are always two ways， right？ That’s what makes a conversation。

So as you give your opinion or you share something， it‘s always nice to invite the other person’s opinion right？ And this is a really important strategy to help you extend your conversations， asking for other people‘s opinions。
當你說出自己的觀點或者是分享什麼的時候，讓別人分享自己的意見總是很好的，對吧？這是一個非常重要的策略幫助你延伸你的對話，尋求別人的意見。
So what do you say when you’re asking for other people‘s opinions？ Well quite simply， you could ask “Do you agree？”
當你詢問其他的人的意見的時候，你要說什麼呢？非常簡單，你可以問“你同意嗎？”
Very basic。 It’s quite closed that question， so what about if you opened up that question to get a more interesting answer？ What do you think about that？
非常簡單。這是個封閉式問題，那如果你把這個問題開放一點點，來獲得更加有趣的回答，該怎麼辦呢？你覺得那怎麼樣？
What‘s your opinion？ Or how do you feel about it？
你的意見是什麼？或者是你感覺怎麼樣？
If you want to make it a little more polite， you might say。 I’d like to hear your thoughts on that。
如果你想要說的更加禮貌一點的話，你可以說。我想聽聽你對此的意見。
Or I‘m interested to hear your opinion about this。 And more formally， maybe if you were at a meeting at work， you know you might ask “Would you like to add anything？”
或者是我很想聽聽你對此的想法。更加正式的話，或許你在工作的會議場合，你可以問：“你有什麼想補充嗎？”
And this is just， you know， a nice sort of polite way of inviting other people into the conversation to share their opinion。 So what about what to say when you want to interrupt？
這就是很好地更加禮貌的方式邀請別人加入對話，分享自己的意見。當你想要打斷的時候，你該怎麼說呢？
When someone else is talking and you want to interrupt them， well there are definitely ways to do it rudely but of course， there are many ways to do it politely as well。 Sometimes you have to interrupt in conversations。
當其他人在說話，你想打斷他們的時候，要粗魯地打斷的話，是有很多種方式的，但是當然了，要禮貌地打斷的話，也有很多方法呢。有時候你需要在對話中打斷別人。
So of course， you could say “Sorry”。 “Excuse me” is a little more polite and then you can actually lead straight on with your different idea or your opinion there。
當然了，你可以說“不好意思”。“打擾了”更加禮貌一點，然後你就可以直接引到你不同的意見或者是想法上。
Sorry I thought our meeting was on Thursday next week not Wednesday。 You know it’s just a little brief interjection to help you share a different opinion or a different thought。
不好意思，我覺得我們的會議是在下週四而不是下週三。這是一個小小的插話，幫助你分享不同的意見或者是不同的想法。
Now you can informally interrupt someone to add an idea to a conversation by saying “Do you mind if I add to that？” or “Can I jump in here？” and that literally means can I jump into the conversation right now at this point。 I‘ve got something to share。
你可以透過說“你介意我說幾句嗎？”或者是“我能說幾句嗎？”來非正式地打斷某人，從而給對話增加新的想法，這兩句話的意思是我可不可以現在加入對話。我有東西要分享。
I want to say it。 Now there are some more polite ways to express this as well。
我想要說一說。也有其他的禮貌地表示表達這個意思。
You might say “Sorry to interrupt but I’ve got something to say”。 Or “Sorry for interrupting”
你可以說：“不好意思打算你，但是我有話要說。”或者是：“不好意思打斷你了。”
Now there‘s not a lot of difference between those two。
I would just say that “Sorry to interrupt” is probably used more when you’re speaking directly to the person that you‘re interrupting and then maybe if you’re stepping into a room full of people talking， a meeting room or something like that， then you might say “Sorry for interrupting， I just needed to share something with you。”
這兩個沒什麼區別。我會說“不好意思打擾了”一般是用在當你在和你要打斷的那個人直接對話的時候，如果你走進了一個房間，裡面都是人在說話，可能是間會議室的話，那你可以說“不好意思打擾了，我有些事情想和大家分享。”
Now to go even more formal than that， perhaps if you‘re working in a hotel and you need to interrupt a customer， you might say “Sorry， may I interrupt you for just a moment？” Or “If I may interrupt you for a minute， I’d like to share something with you。”
要說的更加正式的話，可能是你在酒店工作，你需要打斷一個顧客，你可以說：“不好意思，我可以稍微打斷一下你嗎？”或者是“我是不是暫時打斷你一下你，我有想法想和你分享。”

Okay。 Where was I？ That was a good example of what to say when you’ve gone off topic。
好的，說到哪裡了？當你已經跑題，要說點什麼的話，那是個很好的例子。
If you go off topic， it means that you started talking about something， so for example apples， but while you were talking you started to talk about something else， you know， maybe you got distracted or you got excited and went off telling a different story。
Or even the other person that you‘re talking to has gone off topic and you’re thinking “How on earth did we end up talking about potatoes？”
如果你已經離題的話，比如說你們剛開始的時候在討論某個東西，比如說蘋果，但是當你們正在談論的時候，你開始說一些其他的事情，可能你分心了，或者是很激動，就開始說另外一件事情了。或者甚至是和你對話的其他人離題了，你在想“我們什麼時候才能結束討論土豆呢？”
You‘ve got to get your conversation back on track right？ And it really is just that simple shift in the conversation。
你得讓對話回到正常的軌道，對吧？就是在對話中非常簡單地轉換一下。
So here’s how to do it。 So anyway， getting back to my story。 。 。
下面是你該怎麼做。不管怎麼滴，回到我想說的……
As I was saying。 。 。 Where was I？
正如我所說……說到哪裡了來著？
Ah yes。 。 。 You can also combine some of these expressions together。
啊，是的……你也可以把這些表達結合一下。
So anyway， where were we？ Ah yes。 。 。 You were talking about apples！
不管怎麼說，我們說到哪裡了來著？啊是的……你在說蘋果！
What to say when you think you understood but you need to double-check。
These are really important expressions to learn， to help you as you‘re listening so that you can feel more confident about your answers， you know， when you’re answering someone else‘s question， this is just a little check to make sure you’re answering it accurately。
當你覺得你理解了，但是你需要再檢查一下的話，要說什麼呢？這些都是非常重要的表達需要學習，幫助你更好地傾聽，這樣你就會對你的答案感到更加有信心，當你回答某個人的問題的時候，用來檢查確定一下你回答的是正確的。
So if you didn‘t quite hear perfectly， you could say “So what you’re asking is。 。 。” and then repeat back what you heard。 So， what you want to know is。 。 。 and then repeat。
如果你沒有完全聽清楚的話，你可以說：“所以你問的是……”，然後再說一遍你聽到了什麼。所以，你想知道的是……然後再說一遍。
Do you mean？ And then paraphrase what you heard or you could say “In other words， what you‘re saying is。 。 。” and this is a really natural part of conversation。
你的意思是？然後複述一下你的聽到的，或者是你可以說“換句話說，你說的是……”，這是對話中非常自然的一部分。
Native speakers are not gonna care if you ask them to confirm what they said because it just makes it much easier to continue the conversation， right？
If you’re working in customer service， maybe at a hotel or at a restaurant or something like that then using the verb ‘confirm’ is a little more formal。
如果你讓他們確認一下自己說了什麼的話，母語者其實並不會在意的，因為這會讓對話更容易進行，對吧？如果你從事顧客服務工作的話，可能在酒店裡或者是餐館這種地方，那就使用“confirm”這個單詞吧，這會更加正式的。
You might say “I‘d like to confirm what you said” or “Excuse me， can I just confirm that/what you said”。 Naturally， we agree and we disagree with people all of the time right and there are so many different ways to do this in English。
你可以說“我想和您確認一下您說的話”或者是“不好意思，我可以確認一下你說的嗎”。當然，我們總是會同意別人說的話，或者是不同意別人說的話，而在英語中有很多不同的方式可以這麼做。
Agreeing is pretty simple right， you can just say “Yes！ Absolutely！” to say that you agree。 I completely agree with you！
同意是很簡單的，你可以說“是的！當然了！”來表示你同意。我完全同意！
And we have this really fantastic expression which is “I couldn’t agree more”。 I couldn‘t possibly agree more。
我們有一個非常棒的表達，它就是“我不能同意更多了。”我不能同意更多了。
I really strongly agree with you。 But what to say to somewhat disagree？
我超級同意你說的話。但是不同意該怎麼說呢？
Now all of these examples are ways to say that you accept some of the ideas that the other person has shared but you don’t completely agree with them。 Okay so you might say “I see what you mean but。 。 。” and then express， you know， a different opinion。
這些例子都是來表達你接受其他人分享的想法的，但是你並不是完全接受他們。好的，所以你可以說“我知道你是什麼意思，但是……”，然後表達你的不同的意見。
I understand your point of view but。 。 。 I can see where you‘re coming from but。 。 。
我理解你的觀點，但是……我理解你說的是什麼，但是……
I agree with you up to a point， however。 。 。 I’ve got a different opinion。
我部分地同意你，但是……我有一個不同的意見。
So then what to say when you disagree completely？ I don‘t feel the same way。
那該怎麼說你完全不同意呢？我並不覺得呢。
Actually， I don’t quite agree or I disagree。 I‘m afraid I don’t agree with you on that or about that。
其實，我其實不同意，或者是我不同意。恐怕我在那個問題上和你意見不一樣。
Now this is quite an interesting English expression。 “I‘m afraid。”
這是個很有趣的英文表達。“我恐怕。”
We use it when we’re trying to make a statement more polite not just to say that we‘re worried or we’re scared。 I‘m afraid I can’t help you。
當我們想要使一個表達更加禮貌的話，我們會使用它，並不是說我們很擔心或者是很害怕。恐怕我沒辦法幫助你。
I‘m afraid we’ve run out of sausages。 So it‘s just a way of making those statements a little more polite and you can do the same thing when you’re disagreeing。
恐怕我們沒有香腸了。所以這是一個讓這些陳述更加禮貌的方式，當你不同意的時候也可以這麼說。
I‘m afraid I don’t agree with you。 So to be quite formal when you disagree， then try to add a word like ‘respectfully’。
恐怕我沒辦法同意你。當你不同意的時候，要表達得更加正式一點的話，那就試著加一個單詞“禮貌地說”。
Respectfully， I have to disagree。 And then if you feel like your conversation isn‘t going anywhere maybe there’s a bit of tension， people are getting frustrated and annoyed and you want to change the topic。
禮貌地說，我不同意。如果你感覺你的對話並沒有什麼實際進展，可能有點緊張，大家都很沮喪惱怒，你想要改變一下話題。
Well， we‘ll have to agree to disagree then。 It’s a way to end the discussion， especially when it‘s getting a little heated and change the topic a little。
好的，我們必須暫時擱置爭議。這是結束對話的一種方式，尤其是當對話有點激烈，要改變一下話題的話。
Now of course in English， you can be quite rude with your body language when you’re disagreeing with someone。 So in formal situations or when you want to be really polite， try to be aware of what your body is doing。
當然了在英語中，你在不同意某人的時候，身體語言可以很粗暴。在正式的情況下或者是當你想表現得有禮貌的話，那就要注意一下你的身體語言吧。
So avoid shaking your head or rolling your eyes or sighing。 You know？ Unless you really want that other person to see that you‘re frustrated or you’re annoyed with them。
不要搖頭，不要翻白眼，或者是嘆氣。你知道嗎？除非你真的想要理你個一個人知道你很難過或者是很生氣的話。
Speaking of changing the topic， what do you say when you want to do that in English？ What to say to change the topic？
說到改變話題，當你要用英語改變話題的話，你要說什麼呢？要說什麼來改變話題呢？
Now this is useful。 You might want to change the topic for a few different reasons。
這是非常有用的。你可能因為不同的原因想要改變話題。
It could be as simple as you‘ve run out of things to say about the topic。 So instead of ending the conversation， you can simply change the topic and change direction。
可能非常簡單，因為你把關於這個話題的話都給說完了。所以除了結束對話之外，你可以改變話題，改變方向。
That reminds me。 。 。 Or speaking about or speaking of that。 。 。
這提醒了我……或者是說到……
You know this is a really useful expression or a way of you know kind of linking two ideas in a conversation。 Speaking about your holiday to Greece， did I tell you that I’ve got a trip planned later in the year？
這是個非常有用的表達，或者是將對話中的兩個想法給連線起來的方式。說到你去希臘的假期，我有沒有告訴你我今年下半年有計劃旅行嗎？
But maybe you just want to introduce something completely different。 So then you could try “Oh， by the way， did I tell you about this？”
但是可能是你想要介紹完全不一樣的東西。然後你可以試一下“哦，順便說一下，我有告訴你嗎？”
Or “Oh， while I remember。 。 。” Or “Before I forget I‘ve got something I want to say。”
或者是“哦，我記得……”或者是“在我忘記之前，我有話想說。”
This has nothing to do with what we’re talking about but I‘ve got to share it anyway。 I know this is completely changing the topic but I’ve got to tell you。
這和當前說的話沒什麼關係，但我還是想分享一下。我知道這會完全改變話題，但是我得告訴你。
So what to say when you‘re talking about a controversial topic？ Now this is more advanced conversation skills but maybe you want to talk about politics， religion， social issues。
那當你說一個有爭議的話題的時候要說什麼呢？這是更加高階的對話技巧，但是可能你想要談論一下政治啊，宗教啊，社會問題啊。
I quite enjoy learning about these topics and having discussions about these things but I know that my views will not always be the same as everyone else’s。 But that doesn‘t mean that you need to avoid it， right？
我很喜歡談論這些話題，就這些事情進行討論，但是我知道我的觀點並不總是和其他人是一樣的。但是那並不意味著你需要避免去說，對吧？
You just need a few tools and a few tips to help you keep the conversation open and positive。 So when you’re introducing an idea that you feel like not everyone‘s going to agree with then you could try saying “I know not everyone agrees with me” but this is what I think。
你只是需要一些工具和技巧來幫助你讓這個對話保持開放和積極。所以當你介紹一個你覺得並不是所有人都會同意的觀點的時候，那你可以試著說“我知道並不是所有人都同意我”，但是這是我的想法。
Or I know this is a contentious issue。 Contentious。

And then go in to explain。 It might be an unpopular opinion but I strongly believe。 。 。

I don’t see eye to eye with everyone on this matter， but I think it‘s really important to discuss this。 Whilst you may not agree with my views， I’m definitely interested in hearing yours。
我和其他人在這個問題上看法都不一樣，但是我覺得這件事非常重要，我們需要討論。儘管你們可能並不同意我的觀點，但是我很想聽聽你們的想法。
I‘m not trying to ruffle anyone’s feathers here。 This is a fun little idiom to say I‘m not trying to make anyone upset or angry， you know， I’m just sharing a different opinion。
我並不是故意在找茬。這是個很有趣的小諺語，說我其實並不是想要讓任何人不開心或者是生氣，我只是想要分享不同的觀點。
I‘m not intending to ruffle anyone’s feathers。 What to say when you want to end a conversation？
我並不是要故意找茬。當你想要結束對話的時候，要說什麼呢？
So having one of these simple expressions on hand will help you to politely end a conversation and move on。 Right we don‘t want to get stuck in a conversation。

Now all of these tools are ones that native English speakers use all the time in conversations。 So listen out for them in movies and podcasts。

Try to hear them in context。 Now definitely don’t try and learn all of them at once， okay not all fifty phrases at once but definitely choose a couple of them from each category and really start to get familiar with them and how to use them。
