貴陽軸承廠是一個工業程序當中的縮影。與改革開放後的工業建築不同，貴陽軸承廠始建於1958年，其建築形態和空間規劃，不可避免地帶有蘇聯美學及計劃經濟時代工業美學的痕跡。它的建造在標準化下誕生，儘管建築被剔除了“人”的情感，數十年的工業程序，幾代人從沿海發達城市迀往西北、西南山區、投身工業，紮根成家，愛恨情仇，被夾雜在今日的殘垣之中，成為磨不滅的記憶。建築是冰冷的，但正因承載了人的成長和故事，它帶來的情感價值得以覆蓋舊有的肌理，成為“新”的歷史意義。
