The image was discovered by the National Galleries of Scotland during an X-ray scan of another work by the famous Dutch artist， ‘Head of A Peasant Woman’ from 1885。這張照片是蘇格蘭國家美術館在對 1885 年荷蘭著名藝術家“農婦的頭”的另一幅作品進行 X 射線掃描時發現的。

The newly found portrait shows a person with a beard and a complete left ear - which the artist famously cut off in 1888。 However， the Vincent Van Gogh museum says it‘s “almost certainly” a self-portrait of the artist。新發現的肖像畫是一個留著鬍鬚和完整左耳的人——藝術家在 1888 年將其剪掉。然而，文森特·梵高博物館表示，這“幾乎可以肯定”是藝術家的自畫像。

“She said she was absolutely

bowled over

when she saw it。 She immediately recognised it was a self-portrait by Van Gogh。 And so she sent me a text， and I was actually out shopping at the time and I received it on my phone， a tiny little image， but it was quite amazing。 And I was very excited，” says Fowle。“她說當她看到它時，她完全被
