If a stranger comes up to you and asks：“do you have time ？ ”

What would you think？

Time for what？ Time for whom？
什麼時間？給誰的時間？
You would be right to be suspicious
你懷疑是對的
If， however， they ask you，do you have“THE” time ？
但是，如果他們問你，你有時間嗎？
do you have the time？ You would look at your watch and tell them what time it is
你知道幾點了嗎？你會看著表並且告訴他們現在是幾點鐘了
for example， It is 12：00 （twelve） o‘clock
例如，現在是12：00（12點）
The correct way to ask for the time is
問時間的正確方法是
do you have the time？
你知道幾點了嗎？
or， do you know what time it is？
或者，你知道現在幾點了嗎？
or，do you know what the time is ？
或者，你知道現在幾點了嗎？
Time has several expressions
時間有幾種表達方式
If， for instance， you have to be somewhere
例如，如果你必須去某個地方
or have an appointment at 10：00 （ten） o’clock
或者預約好在十點鐘
and you arrive exactly at 10：00 （ten） o‘clock
而且你十點鐘準時到達
then you are On time （or “you’re right on time”）
那麼你是準時的（或者“你真準時”）
If you arrive before 10：00 o‘clock ， you are early
如果你在10點鐘之前到達，你就早了
If you arrive after 10：00 o’clock， you are late
如果你十點以後到達，你就遲到了
When it is getting late
當天色漸晚時
and someone asks you to do something that is going to take too long
有人讓你做一件需要很長時間的事
you can say， I have no time now
你可以說，我現在沒有時間
or， I don‘t have time now
或者，我現在沒有時間
or， I’m running out of time
或者，我沒時間了
or， I don‘t have time for this
或者，我沒有時間做這些
or， I don’t have any more time
或者，我沒有更多的時間了
or， there‘s no more time
或者，沒有多餘的時間了。
All of these are good
這些都是對的
If you play a musical instrument with other people
如果你和別人一起演奏一種樂器
you have to play In time， or you don’t play in time
你必須及時上場，否則你就不能及時上場
If so， they would say， you‘re not playing In time
如果是這樣，他們會說，你玩得不及時
You can say you have good timing or you don’t have good timing
你可以說你有很好的時機，你也可以說你沒有很好的時機
or you can say， you have a good sense of time
或者你可以說，你有一個好的時間感
or you don‘t have a good sense of time
或者你沒有一個好的時間感
